New York Federal Crime Attorney Dan Conaway
Mr. Conaway represents clients who have been charged with traffic, state and federal crimes. He is deeply familiar with the judges and prosecutors in various courts. "The key with all criminal investigations is attacking the case early, before it ever reaches the indictment stage," explains Conaway. "Whenever a person is being investigated or is arrested for any crime, the most important step is to develop their defense immediately. Many times, the criminal investigation can be halted at the pre-indictment stage, before the client is formerly accused. These are some of the biggest victories for a criminal trial lawyer; getting the charges dismissed before there ever is a trial." Mr. Conaway is an adjunct professor for Emory University School of Law's Kessler-Eidsen Institute for Trial Advocacy, where he instructs law students in the art of case preparation and trial advocacy. Mr. Conaway also teaches ethics to first year Emory Law students through a three day round table discussion group comprised of practicing attorneys, first year law students, and Emory Law School faculty. Mr. Conaway is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a member of the International, American and Georgia Bar Associations. He is currently Junior Vice Chair of the Criminal Law Committee of the International Bar Association. Through these organizations, he has helped shape public opinion and legislative policy concerning state and federal criminal law. Mr. Conaway is also the author of many articles on criminal law and he enjoys doing public speaking engagements concerning cutting edge criminal law issues. He has been selected to chair a prestigious panel of international speakers in October 2007, at the International Bar Association’s annual conference in Singapore. He has appeared as a criminal law-expert commentator on numerous national and local television news programs including CNN's Burden of Proof, Court TV, Court TV, Headline News, The Fox 5 News Channel, and CBS 46 News Channel.
